Dakota Hebert (plays Jesse)
Born and raised in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Dakota spent years of her life a closeted thespian, but came out in junior high much to her naturally-athletic family’s disbelief. Her big break came when she was accepted into Globe Theatre’s 2012 Conservatory Program; she was the program’s first Indigenous student. Dakota has since worked across Canada from Western Canada Theatre, to the Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company, to Onelight Theatre (and many wonderful companies in between). Dakota also recently received a Saskatoon and Area Theatre Award for Outstanding Emerging Artist. This is her first tour with Spirit Horse, and she is super excited to be involved!
Fun Fact: Dakota used to ride sheep competitively in rodeos.
Timothy L. Hill (plays Pa/Grandpa)
For 20 years Tim has worked in theatre, film, television, radio, and fine art; fulfilling the various responsibilities of actor, artist, designer, builder, producer, director, and production manager; with companies including De-ba-jeh-mu-jig Theatre, Native Earth Performing Arts, Theatre Direct, Caravan Stage Company, Nepantla Films, Cahoots Theatre, Magnus Theatre, Lighthouse Festival, Centre for Indigenous Theatre, National Arts Centre and The Rabbit’s Choice. A passion for art and community has led Tim to serve on several boards, including: Native Earth Performing Arts, Theatre Ontario, and the Centre for Indigenous Theatre.
Fun Fact: Tim builds props for theatre, film, and television.
Alex Lamoureux (on-stage musician)
Alex is the 2013 Grand North American Champion, 4 time Manitoba champion, and has competed at the Canadian Grand Masters 4 times (making the top 10 three of those times). Alex grew up following his mother to old tyme dances in Manitoba, and he’s had a fiddle in his hands for as long as he can remember. He’s taught fiddle from coast to coast, and enjoys teaching students where he lives in Manitoba. This is his 2nd appearance on the Spirit Horse tour, and he is looking forward to another great tour.
Fun Fact: Alex has lived in almost every province in Canada.
Brianne Tucker (plays Angelina)
Brianne Tucker is a Toronto based actor, singer and raconteur. Born in Frobisher Bay, NWT she now lives ‘down south’ with her husband and chocolate lab. Various work includes: The World Beloved: A Blue Grass Mass (Carnegie Hall), Kerry in The Boy’s Own Jedi Handbook II (Theatre & Company), The Paper Bag Princess in Love You Forever…And More Munsch (Stirling Festival Theatre), Spatt in Bluenose (Magnus Theatre), Hope in Life In the Raw (Toronto Fringe) and numerous shows with Eddie May Mysteries.
Fun Fact: Brianne was born in the Arctic Circle.
