Cultural Protocol – Elders and Senators
First Nations and Inuit elders and Métis senators are valuable resources and are important to the Aboriginal people as they are the keepers and teachers of the sacred and spiritual traditional practices and knowledge of their people. The following two resources are guides/protocols to help teachers understand the roles of elders and senators and appropriate methods to approaching and having an elder or senator come into the classroom to share.
